Mūsu plāni - tuvi un tāli / Our plans - short and long term

Šovakar beidzot esmu nobriedusi uzrakstīt kaut nedaudz mūsu blogā, jo citādi daži jau sākuši satraukties, vai mēs laimes akā iekrituši vai gluži otrādāk - kaut kādā drūmā alā slēpjamies. Ne viens, ne otrs, mīļie, vienkārši mēs abi ar Mārtiņu esam galīgi nederīgi attiecībām no attāluma un īpaši - rakstiskām. Mēs domājam par draudzi Rīgā un jums, kas esat Latvijā, mēs ilgojamies pēc Latvijas un gaidam, kad beidzot varēsim atgriezties.

*** Tonight I have finally found time to write in our blog otherwise some of you are starting to get worried that we might be "gone underground" or something like that. Nothing like that, dear friends, it is just that neither I nor Martins is good for long distance relationships - especially in a written form. We think of our church back in Riga and all of you who are in Latvia. We really long for the day when we will be able to return to our country. ***
 
Rakstu, lai pastāstītu par mūsu šī brīža plāniem.

*** I am writting to tell you all about our current plans. ***

1. Mēs esam sapratuši, ka mums te Londonā ir jāpaliek ne līdz vasaras beigām, bet līdz ziemas beigām. Tas ir, pusgadu ilgāk - līdz 2015.gada februāra beigām. Mārtiņš atzīst, ka programma, kurā viņš ir iesaistīts, ir tik vērtīga, ka pēc iespējas vairāk vajadzētu no tās gūt (tā ir divgadīga). Mēs jau to it kā zinājām, bet bijām domājuši, ka puse arī ir labi. Tomēr mēs par to esam domājuši un lūguši, un konsultējušies gan ar vadītājiem Latvijā, gan te St.Helen's draudzē, un arī kontekstā ar visiem mūsu tālākajiem plāniem, vispareizāk šķiet palikt ilgāk. Mēs vēl neesam pavisam droši, ka mums tas izdosies, jo tam pusgadam no septembra līdz februārim mums pagaidām nav visas nepieciešamās finanses. Mārtiņš atkal ir iesniedzis pieteikumus vairākos fondos, pagaidām viens ir atsaucies pozitīvi.

*** 1 - We have understood that we have to stay in London not till the end of this summer but till the end of winter (that is till the end of February of 2015). Martins believes that there are so much to gain from the training program that few more months would prove a huge benefit in long term ministry (the program is 2-year program). Before we came to London we thought that we will be here only for the first year of training. During the last couple of months we have been thinking and praying about it, we have had conversations both with the leaders in Latvia and here at St.Helen's and it looks like in the light of our future plans it would be best if we stayed in the training a little longer. We are not sure if we will be able to do that because we need to find finances for that half a year (September-February). Martins has written to several trusts and so far one of them has pledged to support us. ***

2. Uzreiz pēc februāra gluži vēl Latvijā netiksimies. Mēs ceram, ka mums izdosies aizbraukt uz ASV. Tur pavasaros (martā un aprīlī) reformātu draudzēs notiek tā saucamās misijas konferences, kur tiek dots vārds misionāriem un draudžu dibinātājiem, un draudzes tad lemj, kurus viņi varētu finansiāli atbalstīt. Mēs arī domājam padalīties par mūsu plānu dibināt Pārdaugavā draudzi un ceram, ka radīsim tur atbalstītājus un partnerus šim darbam. Mēs tur domājam būt 2 mēnešus un izvēlēsimies konkrētu reģionu, kur jau mums ir kādi kontakti ar draudzēm, jo tas ir salīdzinoši īss laiks, kurā būs ļoti intensīvi jāiespēj daudz kur pabūt, iepazīstināt ar sevi, draudzēm Latvijā un mūsu plāniem Pārdaugavā. Mēs arī ļoti ceram tur satikt mūsu draugus un esošos atbalstītājus, kas ir solījušies paši atbraukt tur, kur mēs būsim. Tā kā mums nav nekādu zināšanu, par to, kas un kā ar tām misijas konferencēm, Karls un Bekija mums ir mīļi pieteikušies ar to palīdzēt. Un Roberts ar Džīnu arī pacietīgi pieskaņojas mūsu plāniem, un iepsējams varēs kopā ar mums doties uz ASV un mūs atbalstīt tur.

*** 2 - However after the six months of training we will not return to Latvia straight away. He hope to have a trip to the USA. Every spring the Presbyterian churches are organizing missions' conferences where missionaries and church planters can present their plans and visions. This gives the church leadership a good opportunity to decide which ministries to support. We are hoping to join several of these conferences in order to tell about our plan to plant a church in Pardaugava and maybe God will provide supporters and partners for this work. We are planning to be there for two months. During that time we will be visiting churches in the area where we already have some contacts. We will be telling them about ourselves, the churches in Latvia and our church-planting plans. We really hope to meet our friends and supporters there! Since we have no experience with meetings like these Carl and Becky have kindly offered their help to make the trip worthwhile. Robert and Jeanne are also patiently adjusting their plans and it is possible that we will be in the US together.***

3. Pēc ASV maijā Mārtiņš tomēr vēl atgriezīsies Londonā, lai pabeigtu tā gada iesāktās kalpošanas St.Helen's draudzē. Un tā viņš varēs arī vēl no mācībām vairāk iegūt. Otrajā gadā tā programma paredz kārtīgu visas Bībeles izstudēšanu un daudz sludināšanas praktikumu. Bet Anda ar bērniem jau dosies uz Latviju, meklēs jaunu dzīves vietu un "padzīvos zaļi":-), lai, kad Mārtiņš jūnija beigās atgriezīsies Latvijā, mēs varētu beidzot būt noderīgi arī Rīgā. Un kā bērni saka - tad gan vairs nekad nekur nebrauksim prom no Latvijas:-)

*** 3 - After our visit to the US Martins will return to London to finish his ministry at St.Helen's. At the same time he would be able to finish the training. During the second year the Associates have an intensive Bible read-through with sessions on every Bible book. There are more preaching opportunities. Anda and the children will return to Latvia where they will try to find an apartment and "enjoy life" :) so that when Martins returns we could go straight to the ministry business. And as our children say - we will never leave Latvia again :) ***

Tādi ir mūsu plāni, bet mēs apzināmies, ka Dievs ir suverēns vienmēr, un tas, kas mums izskatās labs plāns, var tikt koriģēts. Sāku jau pierast, ka neko skaidri nevar zināt, un tas pat ir atvieglojums, jo Kāds jau redz visu lielo bildi un labi zina, kas mums būs tas labākais. Labi ar tādu paļāvību dzīvot, tā ir brīvības un drošības sajūta, lai gan citreiz mūsu dabiskais cilvēks izbīstas no šīs brīvības un uz brīdi grib visu labāk dabūt atpakaļ savās rokās un savas saprašanas robežās redzēt.

*** So, these are our plans but we realize that God is always sovereign and he likes to correct our plans. I am already used to the fact that nothing is 100% certain. And it is a great feeling because there is Someone who knows the big picture and wants us to have the best. It is great to live with this awareness because it gives the sense of freedom and security. By nature we are running from this kind of freedom and we want to control everyting.***

Mēs esam ļoti pateicīgi par šo laiku Londonā, kas ne vien mūs sagatavo darbam Latvijā, bet arī palīdz labāk izvērtēt to, kas mums Latvijā ir - gan draudzēs, gan valstī kopumā. Tiešām skats no malas dažkārt ir tas vērtīgākais! Mēs daudz domājam par abām draudzēm un līksmojam par katru iepriecinājuma ziņu par to, kā cilvēki piedalās Bībeles studiju uzbraucienos, par to, kā semināra lekcijas viņus pamudina uz dzīvu ticību, par nesavtīgu mīlestību un devīgumu, par jaunām iniciatīvām, par jauniešiem, kas turpina svētdienās nākt kopā pie Roberta un Džīnas un lasīt Bībeli... un patiesi skumstam līdzi bēdīgajiem jaunumiem arī. Un tad ir īpaši grūti būt tālumā, nespēt savu roku pielikt. Jo draudze ir kā ģimene, tuvumā vai tālumā, nevari par to nedomāt.

*** We are truly thankful for the time in London because it not only prepares us for the ministry in Latvia but helps us to evaluate the things we have in Latvia - in our churches and in our country. It is so useful to look at things from a distance! We think about the two Reformed churches and we rejoice when hear good news about people who join the Bible study retreats, how the lectures at the Seminary prompt them to have a living faith. We rejoice when we hear about selfless love and generosity; new initiatives; youth who are continuing to meet with Robert and Jeanne for Sunday Bible studies... And we are sad with those of you who are going through sad times. And it is so hard to be unable to be involved in all of that. Church is like a family - you always think about it no matter the distance.***

Tagad paklausieties tik par mūsu tuvākajiem plāniem, kā Elija teiktu - smalkajiem:

*** Now, couple of words about our nearest plans, or as Elija would say - the details***

1. Jau pirmdien sākas skolas brīvlaiks un Mārtiņam būs atvaļinājums. Mēs kopā ar Mārtiņa tēti un viņa ģimeni brauksim pa upi ar mazu kuģīti. Piecas dienas!!! Neko daudz vairāk par to nezinu, laikam varēšu runāt pēc brauciena. Brauciens pa dabas rezervātu, gar maziem seniem ciematiņiem, baudīsim skaistumu, cerams, ka bez lietussargiem.

*** 1 - Starting on Monday Antonete is having a two week school break. And Martins will have a break as well. We will have a five day canal boat trip together with Martins' father and his family. I have no idea what it will look like therefore I will tell you more about it later. It will be a ride through nature parks and old villages. Hopefully we will enjoy the beauty without umbrellas.***

2. Pēc tam pie mums uz vairākām dienām ciemosies Roberts un Džīna. Ak, kā mēs viņus gaidām! Tik daudz, ko mums ir viņiem pastāstīt, un tik dauz, ko gribēsim no viņiem dzirdēt!

*** 2 - After that Robert and Jeanne are coming to spend few days with us. We are so eager to see them! We have so much to tell them and we want to listen to their stories!***

3. Maijā pie mums ciemosies Antonetes dārziņa draugs Vilis un viņa vecāki Inese un Gundars. Un tajā pašā laikā Londonā ciemosies arī Zeibotu ģimene. Bērni jau uzskaita skaistākās Londonas vietas, uz kurām mums noteikti ciemiņus būšot jāaizved. Antonetei būs Vilis, Timotejam - Elizabete, katrs par savu draudziņu jau domā, kur kuram Londonā varētu patikt.

*** 3 - In May we will have few more guests - Antonete's kindergarten friend Vilis and his parents Inese and Gundars. At the same time the Zeibots family will be in London. Our children have already made a list of the best sights in London where we have to take our guests. Antonete will have Vilis and Timotejs will have Elizabete. Both of them are thinking about how to entertain their friends.***

4. Pēc tam no 24-31.maijam Anda ar bērniem ciemosies Latvijā. Jau skaitam dienas!!! Mārtiņam diemžēl būs jāstrādā, tāpēc paliks Londonā. Ēdīsim laikam tikai rupjmaizi ar biezpienu:-) Vasaras beigās Anda ar bērniem atkal būs Latvijā uz mēnesi, un tad arī Mārtiņš pievienosies uz divām nedēļām. Tas būs tiiiiiiiik labi!

*** 4 - Then in May (24-31) Anda and the kids will be going to Latvia. We are counting the days!!! Unfortunately Martins will have to stay in London. We will be eating dark bread and other Latvian treats :) In the summer Anda and the children will be in Latvia for a month or so. Martins is going to be there as well. That will be soooo great!****

Pie brokastu galda Timotejs stāsta par dramatiskajiem notikumiem pirms tēta ierašanās virtuvē.
- Tēti, uz sētas bija uzlecis kaķis un ar nagiem skrāpēja mūsu sētu. Bet es viņam šitā pie loga klauvēju.
- Ja? Un tad tas kaķis aizlaidās?
- Nē, viņš jau neprot! Viņš noleca un aizgāja.

*** At the breakfast table Timotejs is telling the dramatic events that took place before dad came to the kitchen.
- Daddy, there was a cat on our fence and it was damaging it with its nails. But I knocked on the window.
- Indeed? And then the cat "flew" away?
- No, it doesn't know how to fly! It jumped of the fence and ran away.***
